A Brief History
INTRODUCTION
When there is no history, there would be neither life nor existence. History is very important in life, fundamentally in the human race that enables the people in a generation to trace and have knowledge in the account of past events whether good or bad.
The history of establishment of ECWA Sabon Gari therefore, reflects the story in the book of Matthew 28:16 – 20 and Mark 16 – 15 as no one can fathom the profound lessons of salvation in the above reference books.
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ECWA SABON GARI
In 1992, there was Pastor by the name John Zitti (Deceased) with his dear wife – Mrs. Jummai John served at the then Plateau D.C.C stationed at Heipang L.C.B in Bukuru L.C.C. After he retired from service due to illness and resides at Sabon Gari, Tudun Wada, Then he discovered that people in the community had no access to a church or any worship centre around. However, there were few who endeavored to attend ECWA Bishara I, Tudun Wada, Jos. But the immense problem there was a stream in – between over which one would have to cross to the other side in order to attend church service. As a result, people found it very difficult to go to church especially during the rainy season.
Therefore, Pastor John Zitti and wife with heartfelt vision for the people of the community began seeking for a rent house to temporarily use as a prayer house.
In that Mission, there were people to whom he assigned the task of searching for a rent house within the community as follows:
-
Mr. Micah Rivi
-
Baba Audu Kpagoh (Late)
Not quite long, one of those assigned for the task – Mr. Audu Kpagoh got a house from Mr. Dauda Jimel who issued the house free of charge for the fulfillment of the Mission.
